We all have an inner meanie.
You know the one I’m talking about.
She/he’s negative, judgmental, constantly comparing you to other people and how well they’re doing or looking.
She/he also likes to sabotage you in any way possible, such as keeping you busy doing all the things that will keep you from your dreams.
You know your inner mean girl/dude is at play when you hear a voice inside your head saying: ‘I’m not good enough, ‘I’m not pretty enough’, ‘I don’t earn enough money’ or ‘Why did I eat that?’
And the criticisms do get a whole lot worse than that.
Even if you’re a perfectionist or allow other’s comments to send you into an emotional meltdown, then you know you’ve fallen victim to your inner meanie.
What you need to know is that your inner mean girl or dude is actually a liar.
Honestly!
Your inner meanie is there to keep you in your comfort zone because it feels so safe and cosy.
Of course, as you know, staying in your comfort zone also stops you from growing and creating a better life for yourself.
Quite the catch-22.
Self beat-up and self-doubt are the biggest disablers around.
Some people are so used to them, they believe those evil words as if they were fact, when they are not.
The difference between someone who gives in to their inner meanie, and someone who has reformed their inner meanie, is their results.
If you’re anything less than 100% happy with all aspects of your life, then it’s time to address your inner meanie face-to-face.
This is where I ask you.
Are you ready to give up your inner meanie?
Not sure.
Then imagine what your life would be life, without that inner critic cutting you down at every opportunity.
Go on.
Shut your eyes for a moment, and consider what that might be like.
How different your life would be.
How much happier you’d be given the chance to actually like yourself?
Perhaps even love yourself?
