What’s pelvic health got to do with money?

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I talk a lot about pelvic health.

Well, today I want to share with you the common root cause of what brings a woman’s pelvic health undone: Money!

Yes, money and women’s health have one thing in common…

The pelvis!

Ha?

Yep, stay with me…

Now I don’t usually talk about chakras and the like, but hey, there’s a first for everything, right?

If you don’t know what a chakra is, it’s essentially an energy centre in the body, where a heap of nerves join together.

According to Indian tradition there are seven of them and each one represents a different area of our lives.

If you don’t get into chakras, don’t worry, what I’m sharing still has value.

Trust me!

So there are two energy centres – or chakras – in the pelvis; the root chakra and the sacral chakra.

And it’s these two chakras that are responsible for, and govern the health of our reproductive organs AND how financially stable we are in life.

See the connection now?

What I find with almost all clients I work with one-on-one who have pelvic health problems, is that when we look at the deeper issues underlying the physical symptoms, it’s almost ALWAYS got to do with not feeling supported.

Often not feeling supported financially.

Most women feel stressed, to some degree, about money.

And it’s this money stress that directly impacts the health and stability of our pelvis.

If we don’t feel safe and supported by money, then this imbalance usually shows up physically in our pelvis.

And this money stress can come in all sorts of different dresses.

Perhaps you were told as a child that money doesn’t grow on trees and so you’ve always felt stressed about money despite how much you have.

Maybe you never received any good education on how to manage money well.

Perhaps you were brought up poor, so that when you finally got your own money you spent it all, craving a life of luxury.

Maybe you simply avoid looking at your finances.

Or perhaps you’re in an unhealthy relationship with someone else and too scared to leave it, for fear of not being able to support yourself financially.

And as a result, your pelvic organs are now experiencing some problems.

Regardless of the actual money stressor, if money causes you stress, or you feel financially unstable in some way, then your pelvic health is at a higher risk of deteriorating.

For most women a key part of healing their sexual health issues, is yes, adopting a practice like Yoga for the Vagina to teach them how to care for their pelvis, and exercise it in a healthy way that allows them to develop a relationship with their most womanly parts…

So that energetically, they feel connected to this core part of themself.

But we also need to look at how safe and supported we feel by life.

And because money is a key resource we use to live on this planet, how supported we feel by money, matters.

By healing your past money hurts and fears, and by a cultivating a healthy relationship with money, you at the same time, are able to heal the imbalances in the pelvis.

This is because the pelvis is all about how balanced we feel, how stable we feel both emotionally and physically.

Our first and second chakras are centred in our pelvis and these chakras are always related to money, sex and power.

Thus, the health of the pelvic organs depend upon feeling able, competent and powerful enough to create both financial and emotional abundance and stability, and to be able to express our creativity and sexuality fully.

So if we have a stressful relationship with money, it profoundly impacts our health.

Almost always our reproductive and pelvic health.

Yet once you heal the emotional root cause – most often to do with money – then the physical ailment can heal itself.

I’m the first to agree, that absolutely Yes you need to work with the physical.

That is often a necessary part of the healing process.

But until you address the mental and emotional cause, then at best you will only be able to manage the physical issue.

And if you do resolve the physical issue, in most cases, if the underlying emotional cause it not healed alongside this, the physical symptoms usually come back.

When a woman feels supported by money, and has a healthy relationship with money, generally her pelvic health will be good.

But if she feels unworthy to accept more money into her life, or she doesn’t value herself or feels as if she can’t leave an unhealthy relationship due to her financial position, then her pelvis starts to speak to her, by way of physical symptoms.

When you have health in your finances it’s so much easier to have health in your body.

So if you’ve been struggling with a pelvic health issue; incontinence, prolapse, lower back pain, bad PMS, fibroids, endometriosis or any of the many other common pelvic afflictions…

…and feeling like it doesn’t matter how many things you try, nothing is helping, this could be the missing piece of the puzzle in your healing journey.

Every physical symptom has an emotional root cause.

Heal the emotional cause and voila, create the healthy foundation needed to activate physical healing.

The mind and body are essentially one and the same thing.

What I mean by that, is that what’s going on in the mind – the thoughts we think, the ideas we believe in – get directly reflected into our physical body.

And this happens, to let us know that we’re engaging in thoughts that are no longer serving us.

In this way, physical symptoms are little gifts, letting us know what we need to heal within, so we can experience more emotional freedom.

So…

Let’s take a look at these two lower chakras in more detail…

The root chakra, or Muladhara, is located at the base of your spine.

To be more specific, at the coccyx (or tailbone), and in women, flowers into the G-spot area.

It provides us with a base or foundation for life, and it helps us feel grounded and able to withstand challenges.

Our root chakra is directly responsible for our sense of security and stability.

It’s about survival, and in order to survive in this modern world, we need money.

For money is the physical resource we use as a means of exchange.

Food, clothing, and shelter; these are all things we need to survive in this world.

And they, in most cases, require money.

If you think about it money is the ‘root’ of most people’s daily stress and livelihood issues.

When a person’s first chakra is out of balance they tend to experience financial hardship, coupled with pelvic health issues.

They can experience feelings of mistrust, guilt, greed or insecurity, which essentially block the inflow of money.

Yes, feeling guilty about having money or even ‘wanting’ more money, are signs that the root chakra is blocked to some degree.

But when the first chakra is in balance a person has a natural trust in the abundance of life, knowing that all their basic needs will be provided for.

The second chakra, known as the sacral chakra, or Svadhisthana, can be found just below your belly button, with the root of this chakra found in the area of the sacrum.

This chakra is responsible for your sexual and creative energy.

In other words, it opens us up to pleasure and helps us materialise our desires in life, such as all the things we want that cost money.

It’s also relates to our emotions as well as the emotions of others.

And, how we feel emotionally, about… yep, money!

If your second chakra is out of balance, it can lead to pelvic issues as well, given that this is it’s prime location – but it can also create guilt, lack of inspiration and compulsive behaviour, such as spending on things you don’t need, to fulfil an emotional void.

Now the interesting thing to note here, is that even if you have money, and you can support yourself, if you harbour any stress around money or feelings that lead to financial worrying, this is the problem you need to heal.

How you feel about money, as opposed to your actual financial position.

For other women, they will be quite literally financially unstable.

And if this is the case, then steps need to be taken to create more physical financial inflow and stability.

The pelvis is the physical structure that creates stability throughout the rest of our body, which you can read more about in my blog: The pelvic floor demystified.

If the pelvis is not providing that stability, chances are you’ll feel financially unstable.

So you can start to see how the pelvis, and the state of a woman’s pelvic health, can be a powerful representation of how that woman feels about and uses money.

How do you get your chakras back into balance?

And in doing so, experience better pelvic health and more financial freedom?

You start to change your relationship with money.

So start to question all the things you believe about money.

For much of what people believe about money are simply ‘ideas’ handed down generation to generation.

They’re not usually based in truth.

They feel true, because we tend to attract what we believe into our lives.

But if we’re willing to question what we believe about money, then we open ourself up to receiving the abundance that is available to every single one of us.

For our world is rich and abundant, with opportunities and resources, but only if we believe it to be.

If we have a scarcity mentality, then that is what we will see.

All we will experience, is scarcity.

In healing your lower two chakras, the key is to begin to shine light on what you currently believe about money, and what you believe about you having money.

From there, you have awareness.

And awareness is the first step in healing.

Once you have this awareness of what your current beliefs around money are, you want to gently begin to loosen those beliefs so they have less of a hold over you.

And so you’re more open and available to accept in more positive beliefs about money.

Beliefs such as ‘There’s plenty more where that came from’ and ‘I’m worthy of receiving abundance so I can live a love-rich life’.

For when these kinds of beliefs become your truth – when you’re able to embody them – then you experience life very differently.

You act and behave in a very different way, making very different decisions.

And as a result of this, your pelvic health issues, will have a solid foundation upon which to heal.
