Every now and then, you have a conversation that stays with you for years — one that quietly shapes how you see yourself, your body, and the power you hold as a woman.
Back in 2021, I sat down with the beautiful Suraj Bryson for a deeply honest conversation about conscious birth, feminine power, and what it truly means to trust the wisdom of our bodies.
At the time, this interview lived exclusively inside my Tea with Tamra membership, but recently, as I reflected on my own birth experience, I realised this conversation deserves to be heard by more women.
Especially with Birth Trauma Awareness Week approaching.
For most of my life, birthing was actually one of my biggest fears.
And when I started feeling the call to conceive, I knew I wanted to approach it differently — with awareness, education, and trust in my body.
That journey led me to Suraj, an incredible soul who dedicates her life to educating women on empowered birth, self-love, yoga, meditation, and spirituality.
She is an International Teacher, and Teacher of Teachers.
For the past 15 years she has been invited to teach extensively throughout China, Taiwan, South East Asia, Israel, India & Australia, mostly on intensive retreat, teaching and mentoring teams of teachers in Kundalini Yoga & Meditation.
What I admire most about Suraj is her grounded, loving, and deeply human approach to spirituality — she has a way of making profound wisdom feel simple, accessible, and deeply nurturing.
In this inspiring and heartfelt conversation, we explore what it truly means to be an awakened woman.
We talk about birth not as a medical event to fear, but as a profound initiation — a portal that can reconnect women to their bodies, their power, and their innate wisdom.
We explore how birth can be one of the most powerful initiations in a woman’s life, and how fear and cultural conditioning around pregnancy can disconnect women from the innate wisdom of their bodies.
We talk about the ways our childhood experiences and emotional wounds can shape our pregnancy and birthing journeys, the often-unspoken pleasure and sensuality available during birth, and a woman’s natural capacity for intervention-free birthing when she feels safe and supported.
We also dive into how challenging relationships with our mothers can become powerful opportunities for healing, the importance of vulnerability and surrender, and why deep body love is such an essential foundation for truly empowered womanhood.
In this episode, I also share more about my own birthing experience — the external pressures and conditioning I had to move through, and how creating space for trust and surrender led to my incredibly fast, but beautiful home water birth with my son. It was an experience that changed me in more ways that I can express.
This episode of I Love Me The Podcast is a gentle but powerful reminder that women’s bodies are wise, intelligent, and deeply capable of conscious birth and so much more.
Whether you’re planning to have a child, healing from a previous birth experience, or simply feeling the call to reconnect with your feminine power, this timeless conversation will open your heart and remind you of what’s possible when women feel safe in their bodies again.
